Same Ole, Same Ole

The girls are ridding their bikes up and down the street... I'm sure aggravating the boys a little! :)
Trent and Dalton are playing a game of basketball
and my purple Iris are in bloom!

That proves it... Summer is almost here!

Not a lot of big news to report... We did have a tornado fly over our house last weekend! Thank the good Lord it spared us. I feel for all those in Albertville that weren't so lucky. I actually drove to a store in Albertville today I was shocked when I got there, it looked like the tornado had came down on that place! It was unreal!

Oh, and I did have one child x-rayed this week! CeAnna came home from school with a hurt arm. She had jumped out of the swing too fast. The swing came back and hit her in the back knocking her into a crosstie. There again, thank the good Lord it wasn't broken or fractured! Is it just me.... or are my blogs starting to sound more and more like Drea's?? lol

It's pretty bad when you say "Not a lot of big news to report" and then you tell how a tornado flew over your house and that your child was x-rayed..... you know... just the same ole, same ole. haha.

Happy B-day KP!

Today is Kevin's Birthday he's now 38! CeAnna and I went and got him a cookie cake. She wanted to get numbers for the candles. She said "we need a 5 and a 8." I said, Ceanna how old do you think dad is going to be??? She said "58"... I said, how old? She said "he is going to be 58!" I told her, CeAnna daddy is only going to be 38! CeAnna laugh and said "oh I meant to say 38 but I get my 3's and 5's backward!".... is it just me.. or should that only apply to when she is writing??

Walt Streightiff
said it best "There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million."

This weekend was a stormy one! We have some friends that live in Albertville and they were without
t power for most of the weekend! Luckily, we were spared from the tornado! We had storms Saturday night, but that was pretty much it.

We mostly worked on our remolding projects and went to church. After church, we went to Riverton, drove around looking at houses until, it got dark. We stopped and ate at El Mariachi's! It was everything Tasha said it was! It was delicioso! Kevin said, I'm sure I'll be stopping by here a lot after work (pick-up orders) once we move! :)

Oh happy day (oh happy day) Oh happy day (oh happy day)

I finally feel so much better! Thank you Lord!!! This pollen had about gotten the best of me!
We are now officially on round two with the remodeling! If you have never lived in a house as you remolded, thank your lucky stars!
This is the second house that we have lived in, as we remolded! I can see slight OCD tendencies in myself!!!! I just keep hearing Riverton call my name! You can say Riverton is my Canaan! JK ......but for now it is. It's my prize for enduring all this sawdust, paint and extension cord mess!

We have been getting Netflix for awhile thanks to Blockbuster going out of business. Arab has a Movie Gallery but I'm not a huge fan. I LOVE Netflix!!!
I'm addicted to renting TV shows on DVD. Like the show, Medium, which has a gazillion episodes and Yes, I've watched them all! I'm always looking for good shows to follow, so if you know of any, let me know!
I'm kinda in-between so I decide to rent movies that I loved when I was growing up, for the kids. I rented, Whats Eating Gilbert Grape and watched it with the kids last night! It's funny how how even movies like that had bad parts in it... I didn't remember that, at all! Awkward!!!

Summer time is almost here!!! My babies will be home from school! I'm looking forward to it! Sleeping late, lazy days at the lake, a house full of kids (which I truly do love) fishing, the city pool, a beach trip -maybe!!! I can't wait!
My dad use to always say he looked forward to the Summer when me and Brian got out of school and he looked forward to the Fall when school started again. I completely understand that now!

I'm sick of you, go away! Literally

Dear Pollen, I'm sick of you, go away! Literally, I'm so sick! I'm miserable with all the not so fun things that pollen season brings! I'm pretty sure that almost everyone in the house is miserable thanks to my cranky mood! Nails on a chalkboard!!! Arhhhh

"In lighter news" I did muster up the strength (yes, I'm a huge, whiny, baby when I'm sick) to go to Teresa's 50th birthday party at Terranovas! I had calamari for the first time. Calamari is squid. Kevin said calamari taste different every where you try it. He suggested that I try it at more places before I made a decision on it. So, the verdict is still out on calamari. The party was fabuloso! Teresa really seemed to have a great time, but really- have you ever known her not to??!

I'm the proud owner of a new bathroom! My husband did all the work his self! I think he did a great job! I wish I had before pictures but they are all stored on my other computer. It was a black, rotted out, room and now

Wah-la!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Nothing But Good

One of my friends got married last night. She had a small wedding with mostly family. I've already seen some of the pictures taken. I couldn't be more happy for them!

It made me think back in my own life. I wish I could tell you how messed up Kevin's and my life was but I don't have enough time. It would be like writing a novel or you'd feel like you were reading Dustin's blog (ha)! Just trust me when I say the Lord reached way down when he choose us. There is a song that says "He Ain't Never Done Me Nothing But Good" that is the theme song to my life. All the messes that was made, I (we-me & Kevin) made them!

When I was little, every time that I got sick and had to stay home from school, my dad (who worked 3rds and was home to take care of me) would go to the store and buy me a sick present!
My father loved to give us surprises!

In my life I feel like the Lord has showered me with surprises! One of the best surprises the Lord gave me was when he put me back together with Kevin after being apart for two years :) Not that things were instantly perfect but in time! Not that there perfect now... but close ;) I just believe that he had a plan from the beginning. I should say I know he had a plan from the beginning.

Oct. 6, 2000
This was the night before
we got married @ the
rehearsal dinner!

We all have benefited from the surprises the Lord has given us. Trenton came home just yesterday from school and told me that his teacher was telling a story in class about a woman getting stoned but that a man stopped the men about to stone her.... He said that it touched him and that he about cried in class.
Trenton loves the word of God at such a young age. He has been grounded due to grades a few times this year and he walks around with the bible in his hand when he is. I jokingly told Kevin, the other night, that Trenton sure does love the Lord...... when he is grounded! but Trenton does love the Lord and he picks up the bible and reads it because he chooses to, not because we tell him to. Trust me, putting it like that make me think that I need to be grounded for awhile!
I'm convinced that the Lord is a worker-outer, a fixer-up-er and great surprise giver!

according to angie

My blog got hijacked for a short time by Koren advertisement! I'm not even kidding. I was trying to post some add-on's to my page to make it all fancy and the next thing I know I can't even open my page thanks to a Koren add that would pop up! I said a little prayer and.. wah-la!! I know your breathing a huge sigh of relief ;)

CeAnna came home from school and said a little boy in her class wanted to go out with her! She told him she'd tell him tomorrow (cause she had to ask us) you all can guess what her daddy said! CeAnna is still single and KP plans on keeping it that way for the next twenty years!
She was helping me cook last night I had a pot full of fries in hot grease. I told her to check on the fries, she walks over to the bag of frozen fries looks in it and says, "there fine" the sad part was she was dead serious! Uncle Bud told her, "she sure was pretty" CeAnna in a tone I would have used said "yeah, I get that a lot!" Can you say my child!?!

It's starting to feel more and more like Summer:) The weather has been so nice! I'm partially inspired to plant a flower bed. Lord knows, our lack of landscaping around here sure could use it! If ONLY I had a friend that would come help me.... sigh... sigh again..... I know just as soon as I push, publish to post, my phone is going to be ringing off the hook!!!

"I'm practically royalty"

It's pretty bad when you sit down to blog about your day and your like what did I do today? My uncle Bud came and mowed our yard for us! All of our yard equipment is broken in someway. I went and ask Bud if I could borrow his ridding mower and he yelled at me saying I seen you down there with your mower trying to mow that filed (last year) you should have been bush hogging! Then he said I would have bush hogged it for you if you would have asked! and I was thinking if you were watching me why didn't you just come help me!!! That's uncle Bud for you he's a grouch but I love him! So since he didn't trust me with his mower he came mowed for me.

While he was mowing he got his mower stuck on the embankment. Trenton and I ran out there to push him backwards. The mower jumped when he gained traction and I was pushing and fell flat on my face in the ditch! Bud and Trenton got a good laugh out of that!!!

We grilled out burgers and had Bud over for dinner. Bud sat at the table telling Kevin and the kids stories about the family. I heard about how his uncles threw each other threw doors and how my great- grandpa was shot three times in his life (twice by a cop) and I was Oh, Lord Kevin is going to think I come from a bunch of rednecks!

Bud also told me that my great- great grandmother was Suzie Thompson and her brother was Arad Thompson. My great- great -great grandfather founded Arab. Arab has a statue of him in downtown and now that Bud mentions it I think the man looks a little like Brian! (lol)

I'm sure that now you know I'm practically royalty many of you are going to want to treat me as such but I insist that all you commoners treat me the same. lol Goodnight and sweet dreams!

Today was productive for me! I re-homed Tucker (our dog). He was just getting to be to much for us. CeAnna was a little sad but she didn't like the ideal of having to get up at 5 a..m. to take him out this Summer. He had a schedule it consist of getting up EARLY. CeAnna is like her Momma she loves and needs her sleep! We all agreed that Tucker needed a home better suited to his needs.

With Tucker gone I scrubbed my floors, clean house and did a ton of laundry! Having a clean house always puts me in a good mood. I cooked pork chops, bake potato, green beans and garlic bread. Trenton told me twice that it was good. Trenton is elven and I have discovered that elven year old's don't like much of anything so him telling me twice was the highlight of my day!

Kevin came home from work feeling sick :( and KP is hardly ever sick! I do have a fear of spiders now. The Doctors said if he ever gets bitten again that it would be worse so I go in to lets check and make sure you haven't got bit anywhere mode if he is feeling a little bit bad! I think that's the Nanny in me! I think this is just his allergies or he has gotten a cold or something

I have to say the Lord has truly blessed my life. He has giving me such a sweet little family. I'm so thankful for all my blessings and all the years he has seen after us!

"The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on the list."

Since my last post I've realised there are many peoples hamburgers who
I have ran over in my life. Some may have deserved it others didn't. I read a cute quote that says: "The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on the list." I like that one! This is my official, unofficial apology to all the many who I have pulled a prank on or damaged in some way! I'm sorry....

To my grandmother who's yard got rolled every Halloween. I didn't always participate... but sometimes I did. To the girl in High School who's back seat I hid in before I jump out and grab you as you was driving down the road at night. (Although, I'm pretty sure you won't be reading my blog) Okay, I better stop here because there are dozens of you out there! If your reading this chances are you've been got and if you have been got that's like me saying, I love you...... You buying any of this?? I didn't think so :)

"In other news" I went yard sailing with Theresa Smith this morning. If you haven't ever been anywhere with her you have got to try it! She is the funnest person in the world to hang out with! That woman could make having a root canal fun!

I know all of my blog followers all two of you, (thanks Heather and Marty) have been waiting with baited breath for the results of my hamburger V.S. car experiment! I think the results in the picture speak for it's self! Any of my family members who want to share there apologies or better yet feel the need to express their sorrow in a more meaningful way such as a small restitution payment feel free to send that to my address. You all will be pleased to know that the hamburger was later feed to my sweet little dog Tucker! Yes, I said sweet little dog (aka: the money pit) he is growing on me!

This is Nanny in 1981. I love this picture - it shows her spunk!

"For the LAST time I DID NOT RUN OVER YOUR HAMBURGER"

We live in my Nanny's house. She past away five years ago. Wow, saying five years, seems like a long time. It doesn't seem like it's been that long. Living here, makes me think of her often.

She was a larger then life character, in many ways. She was funny, witty, charming, protective, loving but if you crossed her..... Oh, Lordy! She had a fiery side to her that nobody, I know, rivals. She was one of a kind and I miss her terribly, sometimes.

I have many fond memories of her and funny stories about her, like the time she became convinced that I ran over her hamburger! You read it right, she became convinced that I ran over her hamburger!

It all started when I dropped by her house (I was about 16 or 17 years old) and her and my Papaw were fighting (typical) lol. He was gone and she was ready to eat. She sent me to Hardy's to get two burgers for us. I got my burger out of the bag when I got back to her house and took a bite. She took her burger out, unwrapped it and said..... I can't say what she said, but she was MAD!

Her hamburger buns were badly smashed! She wanted to know why her hamburger looked like that and mine didn't. WELL, I DIDN'T KNOW!!! She demanded that I drive her back up to Hardy's. Taking angry, Nanny into a public place was a big NO, NO!

Unless, your a fan of public humiliation. I happen, not to be!

She became convinced that I was guilty of something beings that I refused to take her. I don't know how she came to this conclusion but she determined, in her mind, that I had taken my car (for unknown reasons) and ran over her hamburger! The worst part... she called family members and convinced them I had ran over her hamburger!?!
Common sense people!
If you take a four ton vehicle and run over a hamburger what do you get???

A: Sloppy Joe's (no offence to sloppy Joe lovers) lol
B: A good laugh at the expense of your angry, grandmother
C: Who knows, I'm Innocent!

Ding, Ding, Ding if you choose (C) you are correct!
Just for fun (and for all those who thought I was guilty) I think I'm going to go buy a burger and run over it and post my results....

Like I said, Nanny was something else! Some people make big splashes in your life! They leave a lasting, rippling, effect long, after they are gone. Others, make little splashes and are less memorable.
Nanny was a big splashier. I want to be a big splashier! Minus the hamburg!

He says "hi" :)

The dog days of Spring

I had a very interesting day, today... to say the least! I started out my morning getting groceries at Walmart. I was leaving the parking lot and made the mistake of stopping at a car that was announcing it had a Malti-Poo for sale. What was I thinking???
If the kids are in the car with me, I almost never let them stop to even look at animals (in fear of them talking me into taking one home)
Let me reiterate at this point that I'm not an animal person and neither is Kevin but we have a eight year old, little girl that LOVES animals and she has been begging for one for a long time.

Then the owner starts to tell me the DEAL of a life time on the
Malti-Poo. We are talking house broken, four year old, Malti-Poo, Neutered...... hold for it..... hold for it....... for the low, low price of $50.00!!!!

I know!!! I couldn't believe my luck either!
Well, if you know me and how my luck goes you will know that I never have a "Philpott" ending to my story's!

Sooooo, I get my bargain home aka: Tucker and realize he is in bad need of a dogie dentist! Yes, he has MAJOR breath problems! My little deal of the day is now on antibodies for five days and is awaiting his dental appointment where he will be put to sleep before his cleaning and possible teeth removing and who knows what else! Oh why, oh why did I not look under the hood before buying???
